Our music

What we play

Andy plays piano, keyboards and flute, Martin plays bass guitar, sax, drums and clarinet, and we both sing. Our music fits somewhere between folk and AOR. As well as paying as a duo, we also both play in Oakham Baptist Church worship group which Martin leads, and in the filk group 'Patchwork' with Chris Malme and Neil Chambers

Our songs

Our songs are inspired by a lot of subjects - experiences in real life, and songs about our Christan faith. However, a large number of our songs are inspired by characters in the books we read - often science fiction or fantasy novels. This particular musical genre is referred to as filk music. Lyrics and MIDI files to some of our songs are available on the lyrics page.

Separate Worlds

Andy and I have just completed our first album as a duo, 'Separate Worlds'. More information and the track list is available on the Separate Worlds page.

Filk music

As a loose definition, filk music is the music of science fiction and fantasy books and films. More information, including dates of filk events in the UK, can be found on the Wiggle site.

Filk music available on the web

For a catalogue of filk songs on the web, by subject and author, try Maureen O'Brien's site

For a general list of filker's pages, go to the Filk section of the Open Directory project.

The central site for UK filkers is the Wiggle site run by Rafe Culpin

Annie and Tim Walker have a constantly updating web site - particularly if you are interested in harps.

Talis Kimberley has another nice site, along with some of her songs. Not another harp player...
